Be A Tourist In Your Own Hometown is such a cool event and it happens right here in Fort Wayne. The city opens a ton of venues and museums and theatres to the public for a free day of adventure and tourism. Its a great way to experience things in a way that visitors also experience them and for me, I always took the day to go places I don't typically get a chance to go. There was a guided art and architecture tour at the courthouse one year. At one point you could go all the way to the top of the Lincoln Tower building, but they don't let you do that anymore. The History Center, water filtration plant and especially the Parkview Field tour because they take you all over including the locker rooms! BAT is put on by Visit Fort Wayne and it truly is one of my favorite events that the city does every year. This year its September 7th and here is a complete list of everyone who will be participating. PRO TIP:: They make an actual physical 'passport' that you can get stamped on all your stops and they make a new one every year, I used to take a photo of my kids at one of the stops and tuck it away in the passport for the year. There are long lines and the weather be weatherin' because its September in Indiana and who knows what to expect! https://www.visitfortwayne.com/articles/post/be-a-tourist-in-your-own-hometown-2025/
