Suicide Is Not The Answer

Globally more than 700,000 people died by suicide. (in 2021 which was when the last study was done)  In the United States more than 40,000 people died by suicide.  It was also the third leading cause of death for 15-29 yr olds globally.  Why do I bring this up today?  It's Bourdain Day, named for Anthony Bourdain who died by suicide a few years ago.  He was an amazing chef, outstanding human being and had all the resources he couldve wanted or needed, and he still chose suicide.  Kate Spade, Kurt Cobain, Robin Williams and the list goes on and on.  All celebrities who couldve sought the resources, the medication, the help that they needed.  But those people chose suicide instead.  Someone dies by suicide every 11 minutes in the U.S.  I've tried multiple times and was unsuccessful and that was a sign to me.  Either I'm really bad at trying to off myself or that it's just not my time, and I'm good with that too.  It's hard to reach out.  You dont want to burden others but you also dont want others to know how bad youre doing for fear they could judge you or just not understand at all.  I know that you know there is help out there.  Will you reach out?  That is totally up to you.  I assure you that there is at least 1 person who still wants you here.  Even if the whole world and everything and everyone in it is against you, I promise you, someone wants you alive today and tomorrow and all the tomorrows.

988 is a suicide crisis line.  You can dial 988 and talk to someone or you can even text 988 to talk to someone.  I'm always here too if you want to have a little chatty chat, I'm happy to listen to you.  But you should stay, you should definitely stay.
