I Hate Yard Work

Can I just start by saying, I waffled on this title because I don't know if yardwork is one word or yard work is the correct way? Anywho, I do not dig it.  I don't mind the watering the flowers part at all, I really enjoy that actually.  It's the weeds that you are continually pulling.  The weed pulling never stops. Ever. My super awesome brother in law mows the lawn for us.  He comes once a week and it's the easiest $35 spend of the week.  Here's how the downfall happens: the flowers look really good but the weeds get ignored.  Then the weeds get so bad that I don't even want to look at the flowers because I feel guilty because the entire garden looks terrible and overgrown and dead.  And then it's Fall and when spring comes, I'll repeat the same patter.  And I hate that I do that.  It's not hard or overly time consuming but I hate yard work.

For small weed problems, hand-pulling is often the simplest solution. Gardening gloves are inexpensive and chic AF. It's most effective after a rain when the soil is soft and roots come out more easily. Adding a layer of mulch around flower beds and landscaping can also help block sunlight and prevent weed seeds from sprouting.

For bigger weed problems, usa a pre-emergent weed control product in the spring to stop it before they start growing. Spot-treating stubborn weeds with a targeted mix can also help without affecting your entire lawn.

A little regular maintenance goes a long way. Spending just a few minutes each week pulling weeds will go a long way.
